The short answer
Can I review videos before AutoShorts posts them?
Yes. AutoShorts lets you preview and edit upcoming videos before their scheduled publishing time. Review is optional: scheduled videos do not wait for an approval click. If you need more time, pause the Series before posting begins. A pause does not withdraw a video already sent to a social platform.
Review before posting is not mandatory approval
These are two different publishing workflows. Optional review gives you a window to check and edit a video before a scheduled deadline. Mandatory approval holds each video until someone explicitly approves it, even if its scheduled time passes.
AutoShorts uses optional review for scheduled Series. Opening a preview is not a prerequisite for publication. If your workflow requires a human to sign off on every video, do not treat an active auto-posting schedule as an approval queue.
| Workflow | What happens without a review? |
|---|---|
| AutoShorts scheduled Series | The scheduled video can publish without an approval click. |
| Series paused in advance | Future Series creation and posting are paused until you resume. |
| Mandatory approval workflow | Each item is held for an explicit sign-off. This is not the scheduled Series behavior described here. |
What can I edit in an upcoming video?
Open the Series and inspect its upcoming video. Depending on the video format, the editor provides controls for the script, title, description or caption, scene images or media, and background music. Changing content can require the video to render again.
Review the updated preview rather than relying only on the text fields. A corrected script can change narration timing, and a new image may change how a scene reads. Past videos can be viewed and downloaded, but they are not editable through the upcoming-video workflow.
| Check | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Script and narration | Correct facts, names, pronunciation, and a clear point. |
| Images and scene media | Visuals that match the story and are appropriate for the audience. |
| Captions and on-screen text | Readable wording and correct spelling. |
| Title, description, and music | Accurate packaging and a suitable soundtrack. |
| Destination and schedule | The intended accounts and enough time to finish any edit/render. |
A polished image can still tell the wrong story.
Generated sceneRead the intended scene
“A lighthouse keeper stands inside the lantern room, beside a glowing lamp.”
Compare it with the image
The generated keeper is outdoors. The image looks coherent, but it does not match the intended location.
Resolve the mismatch
Replace the scene image, or revise the script if the outdoor setting fits your story. Then watch the updated preview.
How to make more time for review
Open the Series management page and choose Pause. Confirm that the Series shows its paused state. Pausing a Series stops its future video creation and posting; it is different from pausing your billing subscription.
Pause before the scheduled post and before an upload has begun. If a video has already been handed to TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram, a Series pause cannot recall it. Check the video’s status and manage an already-published post on the destination platform.
When you are ready to continue, choose Resume and check the upcoming schedule and video status. Do not assume that resuming preserves the exact review window you had before the pause.
A repeatable review routine
Build review time into your publishing schedule. Start by checking the earliest upcoming post, rather than waiting until the final minutes. Leave room for edits and rendering.
For fact-based content, verify the important claims against reliable sources before the video publishes. For original stories, check continuity within the video, pronunciation, pacing, and whether the visuals fit the intended audience.
Watch the preview
Play the whole upcoming video. Check script meaning, narration, visual matches, and captions.
Edit or pause early
Make supported edits. If there is not enough time to finish reviewing, pause the Series before posting starts.
Check the result and schedule
Review the updated video and its selected destinations. Resume the Series when ready and check the next publishing time.

When is this workflow a good fit?
Optional review works well when you want recurring video creation and scheduled publishing, with the ability to intervene before a post. It reduces the need to rebuild each video from scratch while leaving room for editorial changes.
If every post needs formal approval from a client or another reviewer, use a process that actually holds publication until that approval is recorded. AutoShorts’ preview and pause controls should not be described as a built-in multi-person approval system.
Common questions
Will a video post if I never open its preview?
It can. Scheduled Series publishing does not require a separate approval click.
Does pausing a Series cancel an upload that already started?
Do not rely on it to do that. Pause before the scheduled post and before uploading begins. Check video status and manage a post already sent to a platform on that platform.
Is pausing a Series the same as pausing billing?
No. The Series Pause control stops future creation and posting for that Series. Billing and subscription controls are separate.
Can I edit a video after it has posted?
Past videos are viewable and downloadable, but they are not editable through the upcoming-video workflow. Manage an already-published social post on its destination platform.
